The Switch

AUTHOR’S NOTE: I thought of writing this when I was drinking Switch. It gave me an idea of writing about a switch.

The Switch was magnificent. It was an elegant switch with golden lining and it was the most beautiful thing ever invented. The switch turned the sun on and off. I don’t how it is possible but it is. The switch is hidden from mankind and that is why they do not know about it. I am the first human to find the switch and because of that I caused an Armageddon.

It was a normal day for me. I  went to work and finished the project I was working on. When i was on my way home there was a road block and I had to go a long way to get home. I was on the highway when a car that was speeding by 100mph crashed into me. My car flipped upside down and rolled off the highway. I got out of it barely walking. I had half walked and half crawled into a cave. I went into there to escape the pounding rain. When I got in I saw... the Switch.

I turned it on thinking that it was a light switch but when I flipped it. It had gotten cold and dark. I thought it was broken, so I did no more to it. When I felt better, I left the cave and that was my greatest mistake. I left the switch off.

When I had turned the switch off, the Armageddon started. I saw the sun and it was dark and it was freezing everywhere. It was snowing in the middle of June in California. I looked at the temperature on my phone and I glimpsed that it was -50 before my phone and turned into an ice cube. I was pretty close to turning into an ice cube myself. I thought of the switch and how it got cold when I flipped it. I went to the switch and flipped it. I was getting warmer and thought to myself that this is a magical switch. A switch that was dangerous for mankind.

The Storm

It was midnight at the kingdom of Lytheria. People were screaming in terror of the storm that coming upon them. What would happen to the people? Were they doomed or would something or someone save them?

It was thirty minutes after midnight. the king had called his people to the town square which was in front of the castle. They were going to discuss what to do. the king said, “there was legend that said there would be a storm. There was only one thing that could save the kingdom. It was the sword of legends. It is at the top of Mount Krawlion. Is there anyone brave enough to venture out to the mountain.”
“I will” shouted a brave adventurer.
“Thank the lords, there is someone to save us.”
“Hey, I might not make it back, but the same fate would have happened to me even if i didn’t go.”
“You have point. Will you need any supplies?”
“No, I have all that I need.” After those words were said, the brave soul went to the forest which was in the way of the kingdom and the mountain.

The man who had gone to the forest was now halfway through. It was easy but that was the first half. The second half was not as easy. The man was walking when he had heard rustling in the bushes. “Who’s there?” the man shouted. He heard growl. He took a dagger out, but then something launched at him.

The tiger was licking him. It was only a baby. The man got up and started to walk away. The tiger had followed him continuously. The man finally said “Fine. You can come along.” He picked up the tiger and continued walking.

The man had gotten to the base of the mountain. He started walking up but then he saw the storm at the tip of the mountain which was the exact place where he had to go. He walked up more until he got to the tip. He walked into the storm. There was lighting being shot and the ground was on fire. It was a steaming oven. He had to get the sword and get out. He was looking everywhere and couldn’t find it. When he was about to lose his last bit of hope, he saw a shining light. He walked toward it. The light had come from a cave. He went inside with burnt marks all over him. He walked to the source of the light. When he got there it is was so bright that it hurt his eyes. He shot out his hand and put it into the light. His hand touched some thing cold and hard. He rubbed his against it until he touched leather. He grabbed it and took it out of the light. It was the sword. He went back out of the cave and plunged the swords high into the air. The storm that was brewing had stopped and disappeared into thin air. The man had finished the job.

When he had gone back to the king, he was rewarded with lots of gold and silver and he would be honored throughout history. The adventurer and lived a long life but had an ironic death. He had died when a storm and spit lightning at him. He is still remembered as the man who saved Lytheria.

What it's like to be a bow.

AUTHOR’S NOTE: What you will read is the point of view from a bow and arrow. I got it for Christmas. This might make you wonder how it would be like to be a bow. I am happy that it does not happen to me.

I was a free piece of plastic until the day I heard machines whirring so loud that it was painful. I couldn’t bear being pulled and bended into shapes to fit the liking of a human. I was a piece of plastic, flat and straight. They made me into a bow that shoots arrows.

When I was in the machine I was tortured, but when I got out it was worse. I was in a plastic box unable to breathe. It was a nightmare come true. I was taken by a pair of customers. They had given me to a person about 12 for Christmas. I was being pulled on by that person many times, each time more painful than the last. I wasn’t alone though. I had my two arrows to be with. They had it worse actually. They were shot into hay many times. I can’t imagine what it was like for them being shot without free will. I empathize with them though.

I hope that someday I will be free in a junkyard, able to rest after all those years of agony. I yearn for that day. I hope that happens for my two little companions. Until that day I shall wait, I will wait for the day that I am free.
