Trojan Horse: For Better or for Worse

In the original they did not have the gods shown playing war. The war started because Paris wanted Helen to be safe in Troy. In the play the gods made it so that Paris would get Helen. Also The gods were taken much more seriously in the original version and Helen was not a ditsy. The reason that they brought in the horse at the end was because they saw sign from Poseidon that they should keep it, not because of Helen wanting a Unicorn.

In the play the gods chose the war to happen because they wanted to play a game. Also most of the gods and adults were being childish in the play. Helen was a complete ditsy and because of her they brought in the horse at the end and not because of sign from the god Poseidon. Also the original does not have anything to do with modern day things but the play has many allusions to modern day things. Much of it is the same though because they have most of the same characters except Ares is in the play instead of Apollo. It is good because it is funny and comedy never fails to appease and that is why

I like the new story better because comedy is always more fun to read than a serious story.

The Power of Gandhi

The war rages on with bullets shot from both sides. People die every second in the bloody war that has been going on. This fighting is what Mohandas Gandhi does not do because as he once said “An eye for an eye only makes the whole world blind”. Gandhi was a great leader and he led without violence. Gandhi had led India to independence without aggression but he had also inspired the entire world for non-violent movements.

Gandhi had gotten to know how to use non-violent movements because he studied Indian law at University College London.  He had went to London in 1888 to study there. He came back to India on 1891. In 1993 he accepted a yearlong contract with Dada Abdulla & Co. This is one of the turning points in his life. Since he accepted the contract he went to South Africa. There he had experienced many discrimination against him and that had probably urged him to stop it later in his life which he ended up doing. HE had once said “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” He had changed in Africa and that let him change the world.

He might have gone to law school but many accomplishments didn't even use law. Once Gandhi himself led a 200 mile salt march so that the people of India could grow their own salt instead of buying it from the British. Also he had gone on a 21 day fast just to protest against the war between Muslim and India. He wanted to help India out by making the economy better and stopping bloodshed.

Those accomplishments were fantastic however they were not his greatest. His greatest accomplishments were when he had taught the Indians in South Africa to become free, but furthermore, what touched the peak was when he had freed India from the British. He had led many acts to make the British leave India. What was so special was that the acts he did, had not required violence.

Gandhi might have led India to freedom what his act really changed, was that it led the world to a non-violent way of doing things. He had done what many people cannot and he had did it without having to use violence. He did not just help his homeland but he also inspired the rest of the world for the future.
